Circular Europe Network: more good practices, more guidelines
The Circular Europe Network
(CEN) recently published new cases on its website, in order to
illustrate how cities and regions have been implementing circular
economy strategies and actions on their territory.
About 150 are already available on the CEN website. Among the most recent cases, the database includes in particular factsheets about instruments supporting business, like the Greenlab programme, the Resilient Web toolkit and its pilot action about urban farming, as well as the product-service system module (PSS) to help companies transforming their business model into a more sustainable one.
Other cases are related to sustainable procurement, for instance related to building and construction (London, Cornwall, Hambourg, Rome or Genova) and to office supplies (Ghent, Bolzano, Rome).
More general strategies on circular economy and integrated approaches on
material resource management have also been recently published, for
instance in the territories of Treviso, Scotland, Wallonia and Amsterdam.
The Guidelines on circular economy strategies by local and regional authorities published by ACR+ in English in 2015 are now available in Italian, Portuguese, Catalan and Spanish on the CEN website. The
guidelines were translated by ACR+ members AICA, LIPOR, ARC and
Fundación para la economía circular. The most recent translation –
Spanish – was officially presented during an event organised in Madrid
by the Fundación and gathering several ACR+ members and experts, to
share opinion and experience on circular economy. Additional
translations are in the pipeline in order to be ever closer to local decision makers, in particular Polish, which should be available soon.
